The different coats and colors of Bengal
1. Dresses
There are two types of coats for the Bengal cat: the spotted (rosettes) and the marbled.
The best known is the spotted coat, covered with randomly aligned spots.
Among these spots there are a multitude of types of spot: solid spots, arrowhead rosettes, donut rosettes, paw print rosettes, cloud rosettes, chain rosettes and cluster rosettes.
The marbled coat, this coat composed of at least two colors is arranged in tiger and twisted stripes.
As with the spotted dress, this dress is broken down into 4 categories: horizontal flow, moderate horizontal flow, random pattern and marble slab pattern.
2. Colors
The TICA categorizes the colors of the Bengal cat into six colors.
These six colors are also divided into two categories.
Standard colors and non-standard colors.
Standard colors: Snow – Silver – Brown – Charcoal
Non-standard colors: – Blue – Melanistic (plain black Melanistic).
The little extra: The glitter
Golden Glitter is a characteristic of the Bengal that we particularly appreciate: it gives a shimmering and shiny veil to the coat, as if it were sprinkled with glitter.
This is caused by cavities in the Bengal's hair, which catch light and reflect it, giving that shimmering effect.
Bengals are the only cat breed to have this Glitter, although not all Bengals have it. necessarily.
